Global Green USA

Global Green USA is the American affiliate of President Gorbachev's Green Cross International. Global Green USA was founded to create a value shift by reconnecting humanity to the environment.

Three challenges for humanity

Global Green addresses three of the greatest challenges facing humanity today: stemming climate change through the greening of buildings and cities, eliminating weapons of mass destruction, and providing clean, safe drinking water for the 2.4 billion people who lack access to clean water.

How to help!

Global Green USA recently launched a new membership program to provide people with the opportunity to participate in its groundbreaking efforts. By supporting Global Green, you are:

• helping rebuild a green New Orleans.
• combating climate change.
• creating sustainable communities.
• eliminating weapons of mass destruction.
• promoting access to clean water as a global human right.

Our achievements and initiatives

You will be helping Global Green expand upon our recent achievements and initiatives:

• Completion of the 1st Phase of Construction on the Holy Cross Project, the first green affordable housing development in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, as a result of our design competition chaired by Brad Pitt.
• Greening New Orleans Schools as part of a grant from the Bush Clinton Katrina fund to build high performance, energy-efficient schools that create better learning environments for thousands of kids. We are also greening new school construction across the US, including all new schools being built in Los Angeles.
• Producing annual Red Carpet/Green Cars Oscars initiative to promote smart solutions to climate change. Celebrity participants have included Leonardo DiCaprio, Penelope Cruz, & Salma Hayek.
• Working with the State of New York to create incentives for greening affordable housing across the state. We have also worked with municipalities such as the City of West Hollywood to create the greenest building policies in the country.
• Creating the nation's first LEED certified green Habitat for Humanity project in Brooklyn through a partnership with Habitat NYC and United Technologies Corporation, as well as promoting green incentives for affordable housing across the US.

Creating innovative partnerships with non-profit housing developers to build the first net-zero affordable housing development in the country.
